Kilonzo says that the two leaders should meet quickly and bury their hatchet for the sake of Kamba unity.

Speaking at St Austin's Catholic Church in Nairobi during the memorial service of Mzee Samuel Mbova on Thursday, the Makueni Senator said that Kambas are waiting on Kalonzo and Mutua to unite as the region prepares to field a presidential candidature in 2022.

The Senator said that disunity between Kalonzo Mutua and others leaders is hurting Ukambani.

"My plea is to Kalonzo and Mutua to meet quickly as they promised last week and lay ground for Kamba unity," the senator said.

Kilonzo Junior said that unity is what will guarantee Ukambani presidency in the much anticipated 2022 polls.

He also urged other Kamba leaders to push for the region's unity ahead of 2022.

Last week, Kalonzo and Governor Mutua promised to have a 'cup of tea' meeting this week.

The two leaders who briefly met at Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana's son wedding promised to call each other.

Governor Mutua has however said that they did not agree on a handshake with Kalonzo.

The Governor in an interview on Milele FM said that he agreed to meet with Kalonzo for a cup of tea.

Political pundits have welcomed Mutua and Kalonzo's planned meeting, saying it will be good news for the Ukambani region.

Kalonzo and Mutua fell out after the 2013 general election.

Pressure has been mounting on the two leaders to unite for the sake of the Kamba community.
