Residents of Getare Sub-Location in Borabu North, Nyamira County are mourning the death of a man who was kidnapped and killed by unknown people.
Maurice Gesaka said his deceased brother Paul Ondicho went missing from his home on Saturday evening.
"Ondicho was returning home from a local shopping center when he was kidnapped by unknown people on Saturday. We traced him to Kebirigo where we suspected he was taken to but, we could not find him," said Gesaka.
Mr Gesaka said on Monday morning his body was found dumped in a river.
"Children who were going to school spotted his body floating on water and raised alarm," he stated.
Area police boss Michael Lesmum said the deceased head was crushed by the killers.
"Investigations has commenced to establish the motive of the killers. Members of the public should be calm to give humble time to detectives to bring culprits to book," he noted.
He said crime won't be condoned in the area adding that locals should learn to solve their differences in peaceful ways.
"The body of the deceased was retrieved and taken to Nyamira County hospital morgue," he added.
