Maribe Mwangi said they have advised their daughter against the move as she can be killed if she does so.

The father, who is a preacher and a politician, said Jowie – a suspect in the gruesome murder – may have accomplices in the crime who can murder her daughter.

“He may not have committed the crime alone. The man has deep connections with shadowy people. His accomplices may be out there and may go after my daughter if she testifies against him. She could live in fear for the rest of her life,” the father said.

The soft-spoken man also came to the defense of her daughter saying the ‘girl they raised could not sit down to plan a crime let alone murder’.

“The day after Monica’s murder, my daughter read the same piece of news at Citizen. How callous can she be to participate in a murder and have the courage to read the news? That is not the girl we raised,” he said.

Maribe is expected in court on Thursday, October 11 as police say they will charge her with being an accessory to the murder.
