Mother to the man who allegedly killed Ivy Wangeci, a 6th-year medical student at Moi University has finally broken her silence.
Just like you and I, the mother, Nancy Kinuthia is also a shocked Kenyan who could not believe the bad news which her son Naftali Kinuthia Njahi had featured in.
Speaking to KTN on Tuesday evening, Nancy revealed that her son was a calm person who never showed signs of killing someone since he was young.
She said the father and other family members were not buying the idea that one of their own had killed a woman.
"I have never seen any problems with him since he was young up to now, he has been a calm person who you could not imagine him doing what I heard, even his father could not believe it when I informed him about what Njahi had committed," said Nancy.
It is being alleged Naftal Kinuthia travelled all along from Thika Town to Eldoret where he set a trap for the deceased student before brutally killing her using a knife and an axe.
All the tools used for the shocking incident were said to be newly bought from the shop in Eldoret town.
Angry students and bodaboda riders clobbered the suspect before he was rescued by security officers who rushed him to the adjacent Moi Teaching Referral and Hospital.
What pushed the young man to kill the female student is not clear. Police sources will unravel the riddle when the investigation will be done.
