On its official Twitter handle, the company revealed that commuters would be charged a flat rate of eighty shillings.

The buses will ply the Mombasa Road, Langata Road, and Ngong Road routes.

"The new buses are Mercedes Benz MB917, a first for Mercedes as they enter the city public transport market. They will ply through the Mombasa Road, Langata Road, and Ngong Road to serve both offices and estates in those areas. They will charge a flat rate of 80/-. cc @DTDobieKE," the tweet reads.

This revelation has triggered mixed reactions from Kenyans with some saying that the rate is very high and have called for the company to review it downwards.

Citi Hoppa has become the first city commuter service to deploy Mercedes Benz buses.
