Hours to his death, former Economic Planning Minister Henry Obwocha emphasized on need for unity across the country.
Also, he reiterated need to venture into business and empowering of small and medium scale enterprises in the county for faster growth.
"He was a bit frail but emphasised on unity across the country after the protracted electioneering period.
"Also, he urged the county government to put more focus in empowerment of small and medium enterprises for faster growth," said Walter Tisi, one of the mourners.
He was attending the funeral of his aunt at Igena-itambe in Bosamaro ward on Friday.
And it's after the funeral that his health deteriorated precipitating family members to rush him to Nairobi.
"He felt ill after the funeral and has to be rushed to Nairobi urgently," he added.
Leaders from across the county led by Governor John Nyagarama have hailed Obwocha as a principled leaders.
He served as MP from 1992 to 2007 having spells both in Ford Kenya and Ford People before losing to ODM's James Gesami.
