"Not Sonko, not Ngilu but Kalonzo!"

This were Nairobi governor Mike Sonko's words at the anniversary ceremony of the city governor's late father Kioko Mbuvi at Mua Hills in Machakos county.

If anything, Sonko has just declared that he is ready to throw his weight behind the Wiper leader's quest to land the state's top post.

Well, regardless of how the cards play out, this seems to make a lot of sense and it will still be a match made in heaven. These are two of Kamba nation's finest and the strongest at the moment in the Kenyan political arena given their 'youthful' being.

Sonko is a strategist and, to some extent, a propagandist while Kalonzo is a brilliant politician who is all round and near-perfect in all aspects.

He however needs someone who can make all the 'necessary noises' during campaigns as he is not so much into public smear campaigns.

Well, Sonko can cover up for that while in the same way Kalonzo provides an absolute seal for any loopholes that may be characteristic of the jigsaw.

The duo working together seems like one of the most mesmerizing combinations and will take them to places. They just are way too compatible on multiple dimensions.

Sonko has been under pressure to resign from his position on some occasions for reasons within and without but, assuming they were just bad days in office, he remained steadfast and, still, seems to command a lot of support at the moment.

Kalonzo's determination, ability to live up to or exceed expectations and his sweet political record means he indeed is the man to occupy state house, hopefully, when President Uhuru Kenyatta's term expires in 2022.

The man to deputise him should then be Sonko.

It however seems too early to suggest anything given the sophistication of Kenyan politics but, indeed, Sonko's support of Kalonzo makes sense.
