A suspect linked to the murder of constable Hellen Kwamboka has surrendered himself to the police.
According to Buruburu Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) boss Adan Guyo, the man suspected to be Kwamboka's boyfriend surrendered on Saturday and is being grilled over the murder.
The suspect according to a local daily says that he has nothing to do with Kwamboka's murder. He further claims that he parted ways with the deceased several months ago.
Detectives probing the murder are also hunting down for another suspect who was seen at Kwamboka's residence last Thursday.
Police sources argue that the suspect at large called the deceased's parents informing them that they were no longer in a relationship.
Detectives say that they are yet to establish the motive behind Kwamboka's murder.
The body of the police officer attached to Parliament Police Station was discovered on Friday last week at her house in Umoja estate.
It is suspected that she was strangled before being hit with a blunt object on the head and neck.
Meanwhile, police are also probing circumstances under which an Administration Police officer attached to Umoja II police station killed himself.
Constable Jonah Kimani shot himself dead on Sunday morning inside his house with his official AK47 rifle.
The deceased left behind a suicide note where he attributed his action to frustrations by a female friend, whose phone number he included in the note.
He directed that all his benefits be given to his seven-month-old daughter and apologised to his grandfather, who he said played a key role in bringing him up.
The country has in the past weeks experienced a rise in cases of men and women in uniform taking their own lives or being murdered by unknown people.
