Locals in a trading centre on the outskirts of Eldoret town were on Tuesday treated to a drama after two Moi University students exchanged blows over a girl.
The two believed to be friends engaged in a fist fight after one of them, James Ndirangu allegedly caught the other Joel Kiplimo in bed with his girlfriend.
Eyewitnesses said Ndirangu dragged his friend out of bed and took him outside as they fought fiercely attracting the attention of locals around.
"Why are you doing this to me yet you know we started with her a long time ago, fisi wewe" Ndirangu was heard telling his friend.
As the two comrades were fighting, the girl in question who was not immediately identified escaped after she tried to stop them in vain.
Neighbours said Ndirangu was a frequent visitor to the girls' house and that it was the first time for the other man had been seen there.
"I have never seen the other man but I know James. If the two are friends then the lady should be questioned on her behaviour," said John Chege, also a university student.
Alex Gathombi, the head of Nyumba Kumi in the area condemned the incident and advised students to avoid unnecessary relationships.
"It is also advisable for ladies to respect their lovers, that way we shall have solved such issues," he added.
