The football match pitting Harambee Stars and Togo was a game of two halves; with Kenya dominating the first, while the visitors dominated the second.
Kenya was first to score thanks to a Johanna Omollo screamer in the 33rd minute. In the second half, Togo came out stronger and equalised in the 65th minute.
Here is a break down of how some key players performed:
Ian Otieno 6/10
With Patrick Matasi out injured, Otieno took his chance with both hands. Had very little to do until the equaliser, but claimed the balls well.
Joash Onyango 6/10
The Gor Mahia defender battled really well throughout the game, but failed to command and organise his teammates for the corner that led to the equaliser.
Olwande 7/10
Almost operated as a deep lying fullback and had a decent game overall keeping the right flank quiet.
Johanna Omollo 8/10
Had a pretty strong first half as he was allowed a bit of freedom to move around the pitch. He solely put Kenya ahead with a stunner.
Victor Wanyama 4/10
Gave the ball away cheaply. He didn’t do enough over the 90 minutes.
Michael Olunga 5/10
Olunga had a frustrating night. He held the ball up and won the challenges, but the distribution wasn’t there.
Clifford Nyakeya 4/10
He was quiet on the wings and did not bring the much needed pressure.
Jesse Were 6/10
Great to see him back on the pitch for Harambee Stars. His short cameo in the 75th minute lifted the spirits of the fans.
He, however, missed an opportunity to win the game for Kenya late in the second half.
