Maverick Swahili news anchor Salim Swaleh has quit Citizen TV.

Swaleh left the Royal Media Services-owned giant TV  station a week ago and is now joining NTV.

He will now take over Kiswahili news reading at the Nation Centre-based station.

He also took the moment to rubbish claims that he had been fired at Citizen TV over yellow envelop journalism.

"Yes, it is true I left Citizen TV a week ago. I resigned for personal reasons not because of what I am reading online. My salary and the little I get from my businesses is enough money for me. I am a professional journalist who has worked with international media entities,” he posted.
