West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi has urged residents to turn up in large numbers for DP William Ruto's Friday visit.
DP Ruto is expected to lay a foundation at Nyaigesa for the construction of West Mugirango Technical Training Institute before officially opening West Mugirango Constituency NG-CDF office in Nyamira.
Mr Kemosi on Thursday expressed fears that people may boycott the function given that the region is an opposition stronghold.
"All we want as the people of West Mugirango is development. I urge members of the public across the county to turn up for the important event to be presided over by DP Ruto," he stated.
The vocal lawmaker said development projects should not be politicized, adding that politics based personal attacks should not hinder development.
"DP Ruto's visit is not political. Locals leaders are encouraged to attend the function," he stated.
Mr Kemosi, a first term legislator, is expected to usher in the DP in Nyamira along with other local leaders who have confirmed attendance.
The DP would later on tour Dr Fred Matiang'i's Borabu Constituency where he is expected to lead a fundraiser for 15 SDA Churches.
