Speaking on Wednesday at Kisii School in Kisii County, Ruto said people should stop telling lies to Kenyans about him.

"I have never opposed the handshake as some people are saying. I have been supportive of the handshake which has seen Kenyans across all corners of this country enjoying," he said.

Dr Ruto said he is supporting the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) aimed at uniting Kenyans.

"I want to confirm that I'm in support of the BBI. Those who are behind should consider joining the team and support the BBI which was born as a result of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga's handshake," stated Ruto.

He appealed to politicians to focus more on development.

"Politicians engaging in early 2022 politics should first deliver before talking about 2022. I'm determined to help my boss in delivering the campaign promises to boost the livelihoods of Kenyans irrespective of tribe, religion or gender," he added.
