Okech is seeking to be elected through the Federal Party of Kenya (FPK), which is against the will of Raila Odinga, who wants Ochilo Ayako to win the race through his ODM party.

Ali is asking Migori residents, specifically voters to make history by voting in the 27-year-old.  According to  Ali, Okech will win the race because he is the most beloved candidate amongst voters in the county.

Ali, who won Nyali Constituency elections as an independent candidate after he failed to clinch the ODM ticket, has urged Okech not to fear instead of trust and put God first.

"Eddy Muok Ratego kwa mtazamo wangu tayari umeshinda, ushindwe ama ushinde.Jinsi unavyozingirwa na kupigwa vita kwa sababu wewe ni kijana inadhihirisha wazi kuwa wewe ni kipenzi cha watu wa Migori.Usiogope unapozingirwa Mungu ni Mkuu.Wana-Migori andikisheni historia! Kila la kheri." twitted Ali.

Okech, who is still young in politics, has turned out to be a 'no walkover' in the coming by-election.

This has been seen after several ODM members including party leader himself, Raila Odinga, and his deputy, Ali Hassan Joho, who is also the Governor of Mombasa County, spent their good time in Migori County to campaign for their ODM candidate, Ochilo Ayako.

Sources indicate that Okech is a favorite amongst residents, mostly the youths, considering he is the founder of Gicheru Trustee Foundation, among others, which offers educational scholarships and digital mentorship to youths.

Mohammed Ali's tweet support to the youngster has since elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans, with some expressing their disagreement with the lawmaker while others siding with him.
