Speaking on Saturday, the commentator said that the region has about 5 political figures who share the Luhya support amongst themselves.

He said that they are Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula and Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa.

Manyora added that Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya also enjoys notable support in Western.

"For now, Western Kenya is under the spell of Mudavadi, Wetangula, Atwoli, Wycliffe Oparanya and Eugene Wamalwa," he said on his YouTube analysis channel Take It or Leave It.

Manyora was addressing former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale's Friday crossover to the Jubilee Party, observing that he would terribly fail is he is plotting to use the tact to woo the region to Ruto's side in the 2022 presidential race.

He advised that Khalwale's move remains inconsequential as far as the Western Kenya voting in 2022 direction is concerned, stating that Khalwale lacks the ability to influence the region for now.

"For now these are the people who call the shots in Western Kenya. Khalwale should know that he cannot carry the people to a place where the five are not in," he added.
