Addressing media in Nakuru on Sunday,  before holding several meetings in Njoro and Kuresoi South sub-counties, the ANC leader also said there is a need for dialogue in order to build consensus around the referendum questions.

“On the issue of a referendum, we still have a long way to go because we need a serious broad dialogue to arrive at the question of the referendum,” Mudavadi said.

He also said a new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) should be set up before the referendum.

“I have emphasized and kept saying that Kenya needs to revisit the condition of the referee who is the IEBC. There are still a lot of tribulations that need to be addressed. I have also talked to some MPs and they say the supplementary budget has not factored in referendum hence we will have to wait until June for the national budget,” said Mudavadi.
