The Ward Representative for Parklands Jayendra Malde is in custody after he was arrested by the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) detectives.

The arrest was made after suspicion that the ward representative was planning to extort cash from one of the families under question for the vice of grabbing land which belongs to the public in Gigiri.

The Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) said that Jayendra had a plan of sharing the bribe that was to be acquired from the family accussed of grabbing land with nineteen other MCAs who belong to the Legal Committee of the County Assembly.

According to Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission, a strategic trap operation laid down and executed led to the arrest.
