Renown political analyst and commentator Prof Edward Kisiang'ani has questioned the plan by a section of politicians to benefit themselves through the creation of more political positions.
Prof Kisiang'ani says the Prime Minister's position will not add money to counties as it will escalate Kenyan economic problems further.
The analyst added that Kenyans having voted in the new constitution in 2010 knew what they wanted which was envisaged in the constitution.
He further warned that weakening the powers of the president will not help in the fight against graft.
"If you hold a referendum to weaken the presidency and create posts of PM and 2 Deputy PM's, are you sure this will help to fight corruption, nepotism, historical injustices, regional inequalities n electoral fraud? How will the creation of new posts add money to counties?" Kisiang'ani's tweeted.
During the fundraiser for Women Sacco in the coastal region on Saturday, COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli was quoted saying that Kenyans will vote in the new constitution and hinted that the Prime Minister and deputies will be created.
The country has been divided on the calls to change the constitution with many terming it a scheme to accommodate political rejects into the government using the back door.
