The self-proclaimed hustler however, declined to reveal his source of 'richness' which he has been linked to by a section of Kenyans.

In an explosive interview on Sunday with NTV, Ruto further further cast doubt in the proposed lifestyle audit despite volunteering to be the first one to declare his wealth.

"Can you truthfully say William Ruto is a rich man in this Kenya? Richer than people we all know? I won't say that I am a poor man , but I wouldn't say that I would be in that class Kenyans would be interested to know what they own.

"There are people who own things in this country and I am not in that class," said Ruto, faulting the media for wrongly targeting him.

Among the things he is wrongly said to own, he listed his Sh450 million official residence in Karen, Sh3 billion 680 Hotel and Boulevard hostel.

Further, he said, when a poor man gets wealthy people accuse him or her of theft contrary to a son of a rich man.
