The deceased who is a regular officer was noticed missing after failing to report to work on Wednesday.

His colleagues searched for him and later found dead inside the house lying on the bed, reports the Citizen Digital.

The incident was confirmed by Benedict Kigen, the county Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The police boss said that investigations have been launched on the possible cause of the death.

He, however, noted that the deceased had told his colleagues that he was feeling ill and has sought medical services, only to be found in the house dead and with the door locked from inside.

This forced the officers to force the door open before accessing him.

The officer who has been attached to the Kamagambo Police Station for the last 14 years was not having any visible injuries which might have resulted in the death.

An autopsy on his body had been set for later in the week but remains uncertain as the week is already ending.
