And as it appears, Raila who is also likely to participate in the elections is already spreading his tentacles in a bid to lock the DP it of the statehouse and make it there instead.

If he is to sweep him out of the way, the DP will have to deal with the many traps Raila has placed on his way, beginning from his (Raila) truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Dubbed the handshake, the details of the truce and the effect it might have for Ruto in the elections remain largely unknown, with the two remaining silent on their agreement.

He will have to work extra hard to analyze and understand the main motive behind the handshake and deal with its sections that might affect his bid.

And considering the time at which it came, a few years to the 2022 polls, its very likely that Raila could hide behind the handshake to better his chances of beating Ruto.

Another tactic being used by the former Premier to tame the DP is the corruption debate, and it seems he is succeeding in painting the DP corrupt.

If not keen enough, this trap could end up trapping him, and will have to take great care or end up further sinking in the corruption scandals and slim his winning chances further.

On the other side are Raila's allies and their unending attacks on the DP, which if he doesnt take great care about, he will waste more time fighting and proving them wrong than working.

Consequently, he will have nothing to show when the campaign window opens, rendering him a loser automatically.

And finally, Ruto is very likely to face off with the main man himself in the actual elections, the hardest part considering that Odinga is equally strong connected and enjoys a cult like support.

If he manages to deal with all these different facesnof Raila, then he will be the fifth Kenyan Head of States.
