His investigative work is the stuff of legend; up there with the best in the game. 

Thanks to that peerless content that he has indefatigably and fearlessly doled out over the years, Dennis Okari is now a household name. 

Kenyans know him as an investigative reporter and not much about what he did before venturing into the murky world of journalism.

In a post on social media early this month, Okari revealed to his tens of thousands of Facebook followers what kept him busy before he became a reporter. 

In 2005, he was interpreting for two preachers Archbishop Arthur Kitonga and Emmanuel Twagiriama. 

One can see why he made the cut as he is very eloquent in English.

Archbishop Arthur Kitonga preaches most of the time in Swahili so Okari's work was to translate that into English.

"Back in 2005 when I was an interpreter for Archbishop Arthur Kitonga and Emmanuel Twagirimana at KICC. #tbt #EverythingJesus, " he posted on his Facebook page.

It was way before he met with Betty Kyalo at the Kenya Television Network (KTN).

The marriage of the two ended in acrimony with both choosing to go separate ways.
