Muthama instead wants President Kenyatta to allow Kenyans to decide on who will be their next (5th) President in 2022.

Speaking during a church service at AIC Katwanyaa AIC in Machakos County on Sunday, Muthama said that President Kenyatta will leave a stable country if he does not endorse anyone in the 2022 presidential race.

"The President should let Kenyans decide on whether it is Kalonzo Musyoka, William Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi, Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula or any other candidate," he said.

The former Senator noted that the debate on who President Kenyatta will endorse in 2022 is creating anxiety in the country.

"The 2022 presidential succession debate is not good and could easily divide the country into tribal lines," the former Senator said.

Muthama said that Kenyans will respect President Kenyatta if he allows Kenyans the chance to pick their choice for president.
