Zetech University Vice-Chancellor Prof Njenga Munene has lauded the move by the Ministry of Education to partner with the university to train over 400 IT students under the Presidential Digital Talent Programme will be trained by Zetech University.
Speaking when he met ICT Permanent Secretary Mr Jerome Ochieng in his office on Thursday, Prof Munene said the move will show the world that the university has grown and is accredited to train Kenyans on their respective fields of interest.
He added that the institution is fully equipped with modern facilities to ensure students acquire all the relevant experience they seek from the highly trained school staff.
“We are ready to host them and train them accordingly. We are fully equipped at Zetech and we will offer them the best education, information and experience they need in their respective courses," said Munene.
The VC stated that they are open to partnerships with other institutions and groups as they aim to incorporate everyone willing to learn.
Munene called upon Kenyans to enrol for various diploma and certificate courses in the institution as the government embarks on revising the credit transfers.
“We want to welcome anyone who would like to learn whether it’s a diploma or certificate. Despite the challenges we face as we are relying on Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS) to admit students, we are optimistic that the number will rise," he added.
