Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha on Thursday announced that the results for the just-concluded Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) will be released before Christmas.
He added that the candidates who will be transiting to secondary schools will also know the school they will join.
"Candidates should know the school they are going to by Christmas. This will enable their parents to prepare them," Magoha stated.
Magoha also acknowledged that some of the examination centres begun the exams late.
"This was due to logistical problems associated with bad weather and chopper operations," he added.
Three schools among them Nyandarua, West Pokot and Garissa were involved in examination irregularities and TSC has consequently taken action against the said schools.
"I am happy that TSC has taken action. I have no sympathy at all. The full force of the law will take place," Magoha noted.
The CS also lauded the cooperation that was witnessed among various stakeholders in a bid to enable the examination to go on without a hitch.
This year has witnessed a reduced number of cheating cases as only 10 incidents of attempted cheating were reported.
The national exam began on Tuesday and ended on Thursday.
