The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has started an initiative to partner with all the 47 county governments.
Chairman Wafula Chebukati indicated that the partnership focuses on civil education which focuses on good governance, democracy and election management.
Speaking in Mombasa during the Post Election Evaluation (PEE) workshop that kicked off on Monday, Chebukati urged county governments to support the partnership so as to help the electoral body achieve its mandate.
Chebukati also called for the relocation of the current IEBC headquarters from Anniversary Towers in Nairobi CBD, to an alternative location; and public vetting of all critical staff at the body to enhance the commission's effectiveness and ability as well as restoring public confidence.
During the workshop on Thursday at Paradise Inn, Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi affirmed that Governor Hassan Joho's administration will work with the electoral body in all critical ways.
