Residents of Nyamira township in Nyamira County were left in a rude shock after a middle aged woman attacked and injured her husband for being 'unromantic'.
Locals said trouble started when the man Charles Aori returned home on Friday evening drunk when his wife Martha Kerubo descended on him with kicks and blows.
"Aori could not defend himself because he was drunk. Kerubo beat him up like a child accusing him for 'marrying' alcohol abandoning her with their 4-year-old son," said Daniel Amenya.
When questioned, angered Kerubo revealed that her husband started becoming unromantic when she gave birth.
"I have been going through hard times in this marriage. He no longer finds time with me. I want him love me like in the past failure to which I will divorce him," she noted.
According to her, Aori is using a lot of money to drink alcohol with other unmarried confused men.
Area administrator Martin Ariemo warned men against abandoning their roles in marriage.
"Men should be responsible always and provide for their families failure to which their wives will started engaging in extra-marital affairs," he noted.
