The county chief on Thursday moved Fred Odero from his former position as the Sports and Youth Affairs CEC to the Mining docket.

He took over from Roselyne Odhiambo who has now taken over from Beatrice Ogolla in the Housing and Lands docket.

Addressing the press after the changes, Awiti said that he reached the decision after receiving complains from members of the public who have cited poor services.

He claimed that the move was aimed at eradicating lazy officials and improving efficiency.

“There were complaints by some of the residents that some officials were not delivering services effectively. I decided to make changes to improve efficiency,” he told the Nation.

Others who were moved include David Okeyo who was taken to the vacant Trade and Industrialization docket from the Roads and Infrastructure department.

The docket fell vacant following the resignation of Carilus Adimba on Monday.

Awiti said that residents are free to air their views on the performance of his officials, warning that whoever whose department will be reported to be poorly functioning will be fired.

He also called upon his officials to strive to excel.

"All officials employed by the county government must pull up their socks. Residents are free to report anyone not working. Action will be taken against such officials," he added.
