Hosted by Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi, they launched the post election evaluation exercise at the Pride Inn Paradise.

The exercise brought together election managers from Kwale, Mombasa, Taita Taveta, Kilifi, Lamu, Tana River, Kitui and Makueni counties to assess and evaluate the general election process.

"The electoral integrity of every election system is inextricably linked with the legitimacy of the process, a challenge our electoral commission has struggled to deal with," said Kingi.

The DG indicated addressing such a challenge requires a multidimensional response that combines political will, effective institutional design and effective mobilization, implementation and management in practice.

"In our capacity as political players we shall continue pushing the IEBC to protect the integrity of our electoral processes. The ingenuity of those who wish to undermine the integrity of our elections therefore prohibits the IEBC officials from resting on their laurels. The internal control systems must continually be reviewed and adjusted," said Governor Hassan Joho's deputy on Thursday.
