Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has had a tough time taming some party lawmakers from the coast. One of those who has been giving Odinga sleepless nights is Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa. Speaking in Jomvu, Jumwa attacked Raila using his Canaan campaign tool.
In a video, Jumwa brands Raila a wise old man who always gives people direction and she should not be crucified for supporting DP William Ruto because she was doing so in the spirit of the Raila-Uhuru Kenyatta handshake.
She reminded Odinga that he promised to take his supporters to Canaan but this trip never was.
The legislator accused Raila of lying about the obstacles in the way to Canaan. She literally said Odinga’s claim that a holy river like Jordan has crocodiles was a great lie. Jumwa stated that supporting Ruto was aping Odinga’s move to join Uhuru to complete the Canaan journey.
However, Jumwa seems to have retreated after an indirect warning from Governor Hassan Joho and a date with ODM disciplinary committee.
She was among the first people to congratulate Odinga on his new appointment as African Union (AU) High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa.
