Local media reported that the duo held talks on Thursday night for four hours where 'national' issues were broadly discussed.
But a senior Orange House official, who spoke in confidence, said the two first met on Monday before finalising talks on Thursday.
"I can assure you that they held two meetings and issues of national unity were broadly discussed. Fight against graft, tribalism and inclusiveness et al.
"On Monday, the PM was at Kilifi. He sneaked in without security and the two held extensive talks. In fact, only Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho was informed and made arrangements on transport," he said.
With the cabinet reshuffle looming to pave way for restructuring of government, corrupt and incompetent ministers will be targeted.
More importantly, the cabinet would be expended to 32 members with time through a proposal that will be tabled in a report by Bulding Bridges initiative.
Even with emerging details, Raila's spokesman Dennis Onyango had dismissed the night meetings in Kilifi.
"Raila has never been in Kilifi lately. Those are just falsehoods. But they do meet with Uhuru and there is nothing wrong with that," he said.
