Marakwet East Member of Parliament Bowen Kangogo has applauded the Court of Appeal for reinstating him and affirming his win in the August 8, 2017 poll.
The MP who has been branded as a rebel in Jubilee party said the court decision was an indication that he won the seat in a free and fair contest.
“I want to thank the Almighty God for the victory not forgetting the Court of Appeal judges, my family and my supporters for their overwhelming support. May God bless you,” said Bowen in Eldoret town, Thursday.
He also extended an olive branch to his competitors asking them to accept the courts' verdict and work with him for the betterment of the electorates in Marakwet East constituency.
“Politics is now gone, let's concentrate on development as we have wasted a lot of time in politics. Many projects had not started due to the court case but am happy the journey will start soon,” Bowen told tens of jubilant supporters.
The two-time MP promised to serve everyone equally irrespective of whether they voted for him or not.
A Court of Appeal sitting in Eldoret on Thursday set aside a ruling by the High Court which had declared Bowen's win on August 8 Marakwet East election win as null and void after a petition that had been filed by a voter Sammy Kemboi.
