Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khwalale has claimed that Trade Unionist Francis Atwoli has been secretly calling Deputy President William Ruto at night to discuss political issues.
Khalwale in a video he shared on his Facebook page on Sunday also defended his new-found relationship with the DP saying it is meant to benefit the Luhya nation and not himself.
The former Kakamega gubernatorial candidate also claimed that some elected leaders from Western Kenya have a habit of engaging other leaders in secrecy with the aim of benefitting themselves and not the poor citizens.
He noted that a number of leaders who had been given mandate by Kenyans to serve them pretend to ignore other senior government leaders like DP Ruto publicly, yet they consult them at night.
The former Ikolomani MP said he engages the Deputy President in public, unlike the likes of COTU Secretary General who usually communicates with Ruto at night for his selfish gains.
"A leader, one who meets another at daytime and engages him/her without hiding is the one that cares about the welfare of his people. Other self-seeking Luhya leaders are going to have a talk with Ruto at night. Even this conman called Atwoli always talks to Ruto over the phone at night for selfish gains," noted Khalwale.
