A man shocked residents at Eronge in Matongo, Marani in Kisii County after he defiled an 8-year-old girl in a toilet.
This happened on Tuesday evening.
Confirming the incident area assistant chief Richard Atandi said the suspect Bonny Orandi has been working at the victim's homestead as a caretaker.
"Orandi following the victim from behind when she was going to a toilet to respond to a short call. He stormed the toilet and found the minor where he defiled her while he had inserted his shirt into the minor's mouth," said Atandi.
The administrator said the victim's mother Jane Gesare who had a commotion in the toilet rushed to the toilet only to find the suspect doing the heinous act with the minor.
"Gesare screamed for help after the suspect threatened to attack her. Members of the public arrested the suspect 100 meters away from the homestead," he said.
The chief noted that angry locals descended on the suspect with kicks and blows before surrendering the suspect to him.
"The suspect was brought to be me after a thorough beating. I could not hold him any longer I took him to Nyakoe police station for court processing," he added.
