The crowning event took place at Safari park hotel in Nairobi on Saturday night, 13 October 2018 and it included various cabinet secretaries among other guests.
A lot of creativity was witnessed throughout the show that was heavily centred on showcasing the rich heritage of the 47 counties in Kenya. Most of the categories showcased included creative wear and cultural wear which represented each county.
The annual pageantry was aimed at selecting the miss tourism Kenya 2018 and who would also represent Kenya in Malaysia and in addition walk away with Ksh 1.2 million.
Miss tourism West Pokot, Sarah Pkiach, surprised many by emerging the best among all the other contestants and was crowned the miss tourism Kenya, 2018.
Sarah Pkiach who is the daughter of the county's CO of health Ibrahim Longolomoi had earlier on participated in Miss university Kenya contest in which she emerged the first runners.
The Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology student had also edged out 12 other contestants for the crown, miss tourism West Pokot.
Sarah was congratulated by Devolution Cabinet secretary Eugine Wamalwa, Chief administrative secretary in the foreign affairs Ababu Namwamba and Director of communications Walter Mongare alias Nyambane among others who were present.
