According to the Kitui County Assembly Chief Whip, the MCAs are drafting a motion to have Ngilu sent packing for allegedly failing on her duties.

Addressing the press at Musila Gardens in Kitui on Thursday, the MCA said the motion will be tabled at the Assembly soon.

Musili said the MCAs are angered with Ngilu’s failure to account for the county's public funds.

“Governor Ngilu has been a pain in the neck of Kitui people and should prepare herself to go home,” Musili said.

He claimed that Kitui people have no confidence in Ngilu’s leadership.

Musili said Ngilu should step aside instead of waiting for the impeachment.

“Ngilu needs to kiss her office, usher in a leader who will mind their well-being,” he added.

The Kyuso MCA denied Ngilu’s claims that they are politically fighting her government.

Ngilu is embroiled in a tussle with MCAs over the county’s proposed supplementary budget.

The MCAs have refused to approve the supplementary budget, a move that has crippled services in the county.

They accuse Ngilu of overseeing a corrupt government.

On her part, Ngilu is accusing the MCAs of demanding for lavish retreats at the taxpayers' expense.

Ngilu has denied involvement in corruption, noting that she is ready to have the county dissolved and fresh election conducted.
