Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko melted the heart of Former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka when he referred to him as the Future president of Kenya.
Speaking during the 3rd anniversary of his late father Gideon Mbuvi Kioko, Sonko referred to Kalonzo as the Future president, a statement that left Kalonzo smiling as he walked to the podium to deliver his speech.
“Let welcome Kiongozi wa Ukambani, Former Vice President and Future President of Kenya Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka,” Sonko said amid cheers from the crowd.
The governor also said that no Kamba politician will be backed when that time comes including Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement leader Alfred Mutua. Before welcoming Kalonzo to make his remarks, Sonko warned politicians against using their positions to frustrate the common mwananchi while referring to the case of the murdered Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno.
The county boss called for the arrest of his Migori counterpart Okoth Obado saying that he is to blame for what befell the deceased. He said that the council of governors was not going to defend him following the shocking revelation. The event was attended by a number of leaders including Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, and Makueni Senator.
Mutula Kilonzo Junior among others. Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua was missing in action. It remains unclear why the second-term governor did not attend the event.
