A Form Four student from a Mandera School is expected to take plea to the charge of threatening to kill the President today.
Mandera Magistrate Duncan Mtai last week on Friday directed that the Four Four candidate from Elimu Bora Secondary School in Mandera town be held until Monday, December 3.
This is after detectives filed an application before the court to be given more time to conclude their investigations.
The detectives had asked to be granted seven days to conclude their investigations but the Magistrate gave them until Monday.
Magistrate Mtai further directed that the student should be taken to the county hospital for a mental and age assessment before the mentioning of the case.
The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate was arrested over a message he wrote about killing President Uhuru Kenyatta and Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale.
The candidate had allegedly sent a message to the President and Duale in his English Paper One (Functional Skills) answer sheet threatening to kill the two leaders.
The case will be heard on December 3.
