The forum held at Diani, Kwale County aimed at rebranding tourism products and destinations to meet the growing and changing demands of the market as the region seeks to reorganise the marketing of the sector globally.

"The changing narrative is more to creating experiences which will attract tourists for what they experience. This will re-evaluate our safaris, hotel destinations and move to creating magic that will remain into tourists forever experiences thereby booming the industry," said Kingi.

In doing this, the DG indicated that infrastructure and air access is key in creating enablers to live magic as tourists move from entry points to destinations.

"As Mombasa we have rebranded our city, expanded our walk ways, and more so, removed the worst eye-catch welcome disaster of Kibarani. We thank you our Governor H.E. Hassan Ali Joho for that broad decision to close the dumpsite."

During the tourism summit, the National Government through Balala promised a Convention Bureau which will again rebrand the conference experiences of East Africa.
