Speaking on Radio Jambo Thursday evening, Nyoro noted that President Uhuru Kenyatta might not succeed in combating corruption using the current leadership system.

Citing the continuation of graft even within the government after Uhuru declared war on the menace, he said that the current system will be better off with some kind of forceful leadership.

According to Nyoro, the head of state should be able to use his total powers in fighting graft.

‘’Tumefikia mahali ambapo tunahitaji benevolent dictator ili aweze kufanya kazi na kupambana na ufisadi maana sasa watu wanamkosea Rais nidhamu na wanakataa peupe kufuata maagizo (We now need a benevolent dictator to deal with the defiance we can now see in the ongoing war on graft),’’ he said.

This comes only a day after Agriculture Principal Secretary Richard Lesiyampe was arrested in line with the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) saga where close to Sh1.9 billion was paid to maize suppliers who delivered suspiciously huge quantities of the product.

This came only several weeks after the Head of State declared war on graft, vowing to deal with anyone implicated in corruption scandals.
