Two people were on Sunday arrested while transporting 48 brooms of bhang in Mumias.
Confirming the arrest of the two suspects whose names are yet to be released, Mumias West Sub-County Police Commander Peter Kattam revealed that they were transporting the illegal commodity on a motorcycle.
They are reportedly said to have defied an order by police to stop.
The police had to chase the two who were caught at Ekama area along Bungoma-Kakamega road.
"After defying an order to stop when flagged our officers gave chase for about 200 meters and caught up with them at Ekama," said Kattam.
After a search, the passenger was found with bhang wrapped around his chest and back.
Police in the area have been keen to stop drug trafficking.
