Police in Bondo, Siaya County, are holding youthful man accused of assaulting and injuring a man said to be his mother's lover.
20-year-old David Omondi reportedly confronted the man, taking issue with their love affair, considering that his mother is already married, resulting in the scuffle.
The incident reportedly happened at Sinapanga Village on the outskirts of Bondo Town, after which the suspect was arrested and taken to Bondo Police Station.
The incident was confirmed by Bondo Sub-County Community Policing Committee Chair Juma Abuko, who's said that the victim is recuperating at the Bondo Sub County Hospital.
Abuko said that the suspect did not give the victim any time to respond to his questions, and proceeded to pounce on him with beatings, leaving him with serious injuries.
He added that the commotion attracted the attention of villagers who intervened and rushed the victim to the health facility, reports the Citizen Digital.
The suspect is awaiting his arraignment in court, where Abuko said he will be charged with assault.
