The Saturday night left a teacher who was in the company of the pupils also missing.

The pupils were reportedly from a trip to the Coast and they crashed only metres from their school.

The bus rolled into a river after the crash.

Kitui OCPD Muthuri Mwongera confirmed the incident.

The management of St Gabriel Academy has asked Kenyans of good will to stand with them during this difficult moment.

The wreckage of the bus is yet to be retrieved from the river.
