Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has said that the planned Jubilee Party retreat will focus on sealing the perceived cracks in the party.
Duale says that the main agenda of the retreat will seek to iron out the differences between politicians allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto that have been playing out in the recent days.
The National Assembly Majority leader said that there has been perceived fall out between Uhuru and Ruto’s allies.
He said that the 2022 succession debate will also be part of the agenda as the party seeks to retain its dominance ahead of the 2022 polls.
“The retreat is timely and will discuss various issues among them handshake, our unity, 2022 politics and also the ongoing purge on graft,” he said on Wednesday in an interview with a local daily.
He said that the party is united and will see DP Ruto smoothly succeed President Kenyatta in 2022.
A section of politicians allied to President Kenyatta and DP Ruto have been engaging public squabbles over the 2022 polls.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to address the Jubilee lawmakers during the retreat.
The retreat is scheduled for next month.
