Residents of Bonyanchaire village in Bonchari constituency, Kisii County have vowed to vote in former area MP John Opore accusing the current MP John Oyioka of being lazy and selfish.
The locals while speaking in the village on Friday when the ex-MP delivered a transformer from Kenya Power he had promised, locals said Opore deserves a chance in 2022.
"As much as we wanted to change, MP Oyioka is the bad choice the people of Bonchari made. But, without doubt, 2022 Opore will be elected as MP because since he lost he has always been with us ensuring the promises he made to us while as MP are being fulfilled," said Bernard Okioma.
Julius Obiri reiterated that Opore is like the 'Mugumo' tree.
"Opore is determined to get back to parliament. I wish to confirm on behalf of the people of Bonyanchaire that we will rally behind Opore in 2022 no matter what because Oyioka has diverted all development to Bomorenda ward where he hails from," said Obiri.
Addressing residents Opore said he didn't lose only that Oyioka imposed himself on the people. "I'm ready to continue serving my people and improve livelihoods," he noted.
