Sometime back, Itumbi was rumoured to be romantically involved with the sultry TV anchor.

Maribe has been in the limelight after her boyfriend Joseph Kuria Irungu was linked to the murder of Kilimani woman, 29-year-old Monicah Nyawira Kimani.

In a long Facebook post on Thursday, Itumbi confessed that he is aware Maribe is deeply in love with Kuria who is currently in police custody.

“From where I sit Jacque fell in love with a guy that connected with her whole being. Their love did not start with the proposal. It has been a journey of love and affection. It is a story of genuine love, at least from the eyes of friends. We all fall in love with strangers and as we grow in the connection we learn each other,” read his post in part.

Itumbi, in a suggestive way asking Kenyans not to judge Maribe for falling in love with a man taunted by murder charges, said every human being falls in love at some point.

“What is wrong with love? Nothing. Loving someone and offering your entire life, body and spirit to them unconditionally, is the highest form of human sacrifice.”

He added that “Having spoken to her, I am convinced she will tell her story of love to the police in detail. For like you and me we all have our stories, some more intense than even hers.”

Further, he challenged Kenyans and the media to think about their posts about Maribe and her suspect boyfriend and find out if it is necessary, is it true, is it kind and whether it adds any value.

He condoled with Monicah’s family saying he is optimistic that the DCI will give satisfying answers as to who killed her and their intention for the heinous murder.
