In 2016, different sources and some bloggers reported about the allegations of the news anchor being a homosexual.

Njoka did not take the allegations seriously, in fact, he did not talk about them in a formal way.

However, in a recent interview with fellow K24 presenter Sarah Ibrahim, the news anchor denied the allegations, adding that many Kenyans believed them without giving it a second thought.

He said that it was just a plan by an unknown man who wanted to source some amount of money from him, and when the plans failed, he 'leaked' the fake information, which spread in form of screenshots.

As per what Njoka revealed to Sarah, a person opened up a social media account by impersonating him.

The unknown impersonator went ahead and got pictures from Njoka's genuine social media platforms and uploaded them on the fake social media account, before joining dating sites for gays.

He added that the impersonator then started to send pictures including nudes, to another man.

"He got my pictures, gets a picture of a penis or something I don't know... shared with friends and then he calls me, I will share this with blogs, If you do not send me Sh60,000 I will expose you to the blocks. People, it was blackmail," Njoka said.

The news anchor who had never talked about this allegation since it was 'leaked' said it should not bother anyone when it comes to his dating lifestyle.

"If I am gay or am not gay, it is none of your concerns," he noted.

Njoka also said he plans to remain a bachelor for the rest of his life.
