Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose on Friday asked Governor Nyagarama to suspend plans to fire over 500 ECDE teachers.

Mose maintained that the county should instead hire more ECDE teachers to help nurture kids at the nursery level.

"I totally disagree over Nyagarama's administration plans to sack ECDE teachers. I will stand with the ECDE teachers to the rather end," he vowed.

The vocal legislator challenged the ECDE teachers to unite and ensure the county doesn't send them home.

According the the MP, the county government's plans to conduct a head count on all ECDE teachers across the county should not be carried out to sack teachers.

He maintained that only ECDE teachers who were employed through the back door can be sent home.

"Nyagarama need to know that public schools in Nyamira lacks enough ECDE teachers. His government should plan to employ more qualified ECDE teachers and deploy them across all schools," he stated.
