Fast-rising Kenyan singer Nadia Mukami has shed more light on why she left Hailemind record label.
The label produced some of her best-performing songs including African Lover, Yule Yule, Si Rahisi and Radio Love.
Nadia, however, appreciated David Guoro, Hailemind’s manager, for supporting her at the beginning of her music career when she was just an upcoming artiste.
“You know things happen in management. The first thing I would like to say is that I can't take all the credit because he (David Guoro) held my hand ever since I was a young artist (Unajua tu mambo huwa yanafanyika kwenye management. Na kitu cha kwanza ningesema kuwa siwezi chukua credit kwa sababu alinishika (David Guoro) mkono ever since I was a young artist)," she said.
She was however quick to add that there were gross misunderstandings that could not be fixed between the management and her.
“However, it reaches a point where things are not working and even if you try to solve them, it gets to a time where you have to leave. It's like being in a relationship, you try to fix the problem but there some which cannot be fixed (Lakini inafika mahali kama kuna vitu ambavyo haviwork, na ata kama umejaribu kuvi solve inafika time ya kuenda. Ni kama uwe kwenye relationship, umejaribu kuifix lakini kuna vitu ambavyo cannot be fixed)," she added.
According to the ‘Si Rahisi’ singer, two of the core things that led to the misunderstandings were trust and money.
Nadia recently had a breakthrough with her latest song ‘Radio Love’ which has gained more than one million views on YouTube. It is not yet clear whether she has moved to another record label or not.
