Vocal Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has predicted possible collapsing of Tangatanga movement, a campaign group associated with Deputy President William Ruto.
At Githurai on Sunday, Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu was forced to cut short his speech following heckling by hundreds of residents who had turned up.
Deputy President William Ruto had invited the vocal governor, who has lately been pushing for his 2022 presidential bid, but an angry crowd could not allow him to address them.
"Hiyo ni sawa. Hiyo ni sawa. Kitu ile nataka nyinyi mjue," Waititu is heard saying. (That's okay. That's okay. What I really want you to know...)
And Mr Wambugu on his Facebook, said the humiliation of Governor Waititu was the beginning of rough days for team Tangatanga across the country.
"I hear Tanga Tanga had a bad day in Kiambu today. This is how it starts ... na bado," wrote Wambugu, a pioneer of another faction called Kieleweke.
Earlier on Sunday at Kahawa Wendani, Governor Waititu had claimed that the government was targeting leaders supporting DP William Ruto in the ongoing war against corruption.
Governor Waititu was recently dragged to court by EACC over irregular tendering in which his family members are said to have been beneficiaries.
